What is SR-Cofactors™?
SR-CoFactors™ provides a unique blend of vitamins, nutrients, and a powerful botanical adaptogen called Rhodiooa rosea. Also, because this product is for acute adrenal insufficiency, it contains two key adrenal hormones – DHEA and pregnenolone. This combination provides the building blocks and cofactors necessary to support a severe adrenal imbalance. What is an Adaptogen?

What is in SR-Cofactors™?

Adrenal gland cofactors
Vitamin C, vitamin B6, biotin, pantothenic acid, zinc, and copper are all adrenal gland cofactors that are necessary for the synthesis and utilization of adrenal hormones, especially pregnenolone and DHEA.

Rhodiola rosea
The Vikings used rhodiola to enhance physical strength and endurance, and it was commonly used by many Northern peoples to treat fatigue, poor physical endurance, nervous system disorders, and infections, and to enhance fertility.

Rhodiola rosea is effective for improving mood and alleviating depression. Russian research shows that it improves both physical and mental performance, reduces fatigue, and prevents high-altitude sickness. Rhodiola rosea's effects are attributed to its ability to optimize serotonin and dopamine levels, due to monoamine oxidase inhibition and to its influence on opioid peptides such as beta-endorphins.

DHEA
Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is a natural hormone produced from cholesterol by the adrenal glands. DHEA is a precursor of androstenedione, which can undergo further conversion to produce the androgen testosterone and the estrogens estrone and estradiol. DHEA controls fat and mineral metabolism, endocrine and reproductive function, and energy levels. DHEA supplementation has been associated with increased emotional well-being and immune function.

Pregnenolone
Pregnenolone is considered a “mother steroid” because it is a precursor to many hormones including progesterone and DHEA. As such, it has been linked with positive support for stress resistance, memory enhancement, and immune modulation.
