Perfusia-SR - Perfusia-SR is a sustained-release formulation of the amino acid L-arginine. Perfusia-SR is an exciting, new dietary supplement that represents a revolutionary advancement in nutritional support for the heart and blood vessels. Patent-pending Perfusia-SR is the first of its kind – a timed-release L-arginine dietary supplement. Ordinary L-arginine, while helpful, is absorbed very quickly into the bloodstream, but disappears from the blood in a few hours. L-arginine is an amino acid, a natural substance in the body that is one of the building blocks of proteins. In addition, in the body L-arginine is converted into nitric oxide, a very simple molecule (it contains only one molecule of oxygen and one nitrogen) that has profound effects on the heart and blood vessels. Nitric oxide has been the focus of intense research in the past few years. In fact, researchers Robert F. Furchgott, Louis J. Ignarro, and Ferid Murad were awarded the 1998 Nobel Prize in Medicine for their discoveries concerning “nitric oxide as a signaling molecule in the cardiovascular system.” In short, nitric oxide produced in the inner lining of the blood vessels causes the vessels to relax, allowing more blood to flow to vital body tissues and organs.
