What
is Curcumin C3 Complex®
Curcumin C3 Complex® is a unique, patented extract of Curcuma longa root, commonly
known as “Turmeric". Turmeric has long been used in Ayurvedic
medicine for centuries, and is a common household remedy in
India. The active constituent is known as curcumin.
The National Cancer Institute is currently developing curcumin
as a drug for the treatment of cancer. The rationale behind
this effort is based on the combination of potential chemopreventive
mechanisms, the validated biological activity in pre clinical
studies and its proven safety to humans.

What
makes Pure Prescriptions Curcumin different?
The
Pure Prescriptions brand stands apart by using 500 mg of patented
Curcumin C3 Complex®, standardized to contain high concentrations
of the herb's active ingredients (curcumin). For added
health benefit and value, Green Tea Extract and "Nature's
Thermonutrient," Bioperine, to guarantee optimum absorption
have been added. All of this in a healthy vegetarian encapsulation.
Is
Curcumin Safe?
Used in the recommended amounts,
Curcumin (turmeric) is generally safe. It has been used in
large quantities as a condiment with no adverse reactions.
Some herbal books recommend not taking high amounts of turmeric
during pregnancy as it may cause uterine contractions and
people with gallstones or obstruction of bile passages should
consult their healthcare practitioner before using turmeric. At the time of writing, there were no well-known drug interactions with curcumin.
Curcumin
has been shown to have a wide range of actions. First, it
protects against free radical damage because it is a strong
antioxidant. Second, it reduces inflammation by lowering histamine
levels and possibly by increasing production of natural cortisone
by the adrenal glands. Third, it protects the liver from a
number of toxic compounds. Fourth, it has been shown to reduce
platelets from clumping together, which in turn improves circulation
to support cardiovascular health.
Curcumin: A Review of Medical Benefits
Pure Prescriptions' very own Dr. Ankur Chandra, MD discusses
the medicinal benefits of Curcumin and why these plant-derived
chemicals have generated considerable interest
recently for their potential to combat human disease such
as cancer, inflammation, and atherosclerosis... Learn
