The need for supplementation with coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is clear and has never been greater, especially with the dramatic increase in the number of people taking statin drugs for cholesterol reduction. Commercial CoQ10 products are often of poor intestinal absorption and bioavailability. Finding novel ways to significantly improve lipid absorption has always been a challenge. The next graph provides a vivid illustration of the difference in Pure Q10™ (the orange line) versus the three other “bio-enhanced” CoQ10 products in plasma concentration levels over time. Pure Q10™ not only has higher plasma concentration levels after one hour, but continues to increase dramatically before reaching Cmax at about 4 hours. The plasma concentration of Pure Q10™ remains well above levels for the 3 other treatments throughout the 24 hour period.
This VESIsorb® technology is a patented, lipid-based formulation that naturally self-assembles on contact with an aqueous phase into an association colloid delivery system. Unlike Liposomes, an association colloid is a mono-layer structure with the solved bio-actives in the oil core (illustrated below). The co-administered drug and/or natural bio-active will be solubilized by the in situ formed colloidal system with a mean diameter of below 100 nm and a very narrow size distribution as assessed by dynamic laser light scattering. The naturally occurring mixed micellar transport system of the human body for fat absorption is the model that mirrors the VESIsorb® natural self-assembling colloidal delivery system.
